The Zaragoza Expo is drawing to a close and Gran Scala is yet to finalise a deal to buy the 2,000 hectares required for the plan to go ahead.

The international development consortium had anounnced last Decembre 2007, that the ending of the Expo would be the point at which construction would begin, and yet with that date closing in, no sign of a deal has yet emerged.

Meanwhile the Aragonese government is seemingly distancing itself from the project, claiming that its work there is done and that the rest is up to the consortium. Press interest is also beginning to wain, and the question comes to mind of whether the poor economic climate and lack of funding availability is causing the investors to think twice.

Should the whole project close up now and go home? Was it a bad idea all along? Where was all the water going to come from? Have you say here on Gran Scala Online
