It seems that the Chamber of Commerce of Zaragoza has done a survey about the Gran Scala mega-project and one of the main things to come out of it was that the 86 percent of the people in the region would be in favor of it being there.
It's easy to see the attraction. Even if you're not one of the 130 or so property owners who are about to cash in a good deal (possibly - still waiting on that one!) then there are still attractions to bringing a development like this to your area - jobs, wealth, knock-on property price increases.
On the other hand there may be downsides to think about too. Pollution (already in the press a lot) upheaval of traditional ways, and an intrusion of 25 million tourists a year into an otherwise peaceful area. Things just won't be the same again.
Meanwhile the prospects of the project going ahead seem a little more positive once again - this past weekend in the Monegros, Marcelino Churches, the president of Aragon, stated that he expects the land purchase rights to be bought by the ILD group in due course. But then we've heard that kind of talk before....
